Meet the Council

  • Steven S. Wasserman, Chair

    Steve Wasserman serves as Executive Vice President for Colliers International South Florida, LLC and is one of the  leaders of the South Florida Industrial Services team, where he represents institutional property owners in leasing and strategic advice across Broward and Miami-Dade counties. He also represents local and national tenants looking to buy or lease space. Finally, he represents owner users in the disposition of their industrial buildings and land.

  • Philip F. Blumberg

    Philip F. Blumberg is founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Blumberg Partners group of companies. Mr. Blumberg is Chairman of the firm's Investment Committee.

  • Scott Curtis

    Scott Curtis is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Council for Educational Change.

  • Diane P. Davis, CFP

    Diane Davis is a Vice President and Wealth Management Advisor in the Miami Falls Office of Merrill Lynch in South Florida. Davis started her career in the banking industry in 1987 at Chase Federal Bank, in Miami. Davis started with Merrill Lynch in February of 1995 as a financial advisor and has been adding to her education, experience and credentials ever since.

  • Dorothy Eisenberg

    Dorothy S. Eisenberg, a prominent certified public accountant, brings a wealth of taxation experience to Gerson, Preston, Robinson & Company, and is highly regarded by the clients she serves. Ms. Eisenberg focuses her practice on managing some of the largest and most complex tax and general accounting matters for high net-worth individuals and businesses served by the firm. She has an extensive background in a wide variety of industries including healthcare, real estate, manufacturing, retail and professional services. In addition to serving clients, Ms. Eisenberg trains and supervises professional staff at the firm.

  • Jonathan Flah

    Jonathan Flah is Director of Business Development at Sisca Construction Services, LLC. A Syracuse New York native, and a fast track student at Skaneateles High.  Jonathan attended Bradford College, with continued studies at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. He finished his portfolio at the Art Institute in Denver.

  • Karen Fryd

    Karen Fryd is the Director of the South Florida Youth Foundation, Inc.  It was fate that took Karen to inner-city schools that she never realized were so close to her home. She was astounded at the level of need of children, who while living parallel lives to her own lacked many of the basic necessities.  The South Florida Youth Foundation was founded in 2001, to raise needed funds, and provide direct assistance to elementary-school aged children in Overtown and Liberty City.

  • John Giordano

    John Giordano’s transactional practice encompasses a broad range of areas, including federal and state securities law, corporate finance, mergers, acquisitions and tax law. Mr. Giordano is regularly involved in complex business-related transactions, and has substantial experience in counseling clients, including start-up enterprises, in obtaining capital and advising clients about obstacles to successfully growing a business. Mr. Giordano has acted as general corporate counsel for numerous Florida-based public and private corporations.

    Dr. Robert Graham took his understanding of the art of influencing leadership to help change the culture of a Tampa Bay school.

  • Steven T. Halverson

    Steven T. Halverson has served as a director of CSX since September 2006. Mr. Halverson is the Chief Executive Officer of The Haskell Company, one of the largest design and construction firms in the United States.
